Music Ministry Commitment Form

The Music Group is a vital part of the worship of the congregation of the Reformed Church of Perth.

It's role is to musically lead God's people in the worship they together bring to our God of mercy and grace so that they might honor, adore, praise and thank Him for all His goodness shown to them in Jesus Christ.

The musicians are SERVANTS of both the Lord and the congregation. In their service of worship their role is not to draw attention to themselves, which would be entertainment. Rather they desire to have the congregation focus on the Lord which is worship.

Realizing that their service is to both the Lord and the congregation, a STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE is what they strive for, giving their very best to God and thereby also seeking to lead the congregation in their worship as best they can.

As a member of the Music Worship Team, I have signed this document to demonstrate my agreement with its contents and as a commitment to abide by its requirements.

As a member of the Music Worship Team of the Reformed Church of Perth

I …………………………………………………………………………………………….

COMMIT myself to..

  1. Practicing selected music AT HOME coming prepared to rehearsal sessions
  2. Faithfully attend the REHEARSAL SESSIONS with a Christlike co-operative attitude
  3. Pay careful attention to the devotional aspects of the rehearsal sessions in which the rehearsal will be committed to the Lord in prayer and each song will be discussed as to its message and place within the worship service.
  4. Attend all services in which I am rostered to play, or lead the singing, unless compelling circumstances prevent me from doing so.
  5. When rostered to play in worship I will come 20 minutes prior to the beginning of a worship service or, other event, to tune my instrument before members begin to arrive.
  6. Have my instrument in good order to avoid mishaps during worship as much as possible
  7. Abide by all instructions and directions of the person appointed to direct the music at rehearsals, or in worship services and other events at which I am rostered to play
  8. Play my instrument at a level that while assisting the congregation to sing does not drown out the worshippers.
